It seems that the MMO early access curse has struck once again and this time the victim is Final Fantasy 14. The developers have started turning off features like character creation to try to deal with the early access load issues. A Realm Reborn’s director, Naoki Yoshida, apologized to players on the game’s official forums stating that unless the current world simultaneous connection amount decreases, they will be unable to release the limitation.
He goes on to say, In case we do release the limitation, there is a high chance that the corresponding World will crash or cause issues, and we are thinking that it will be difficult for us to release it for a while. We please ask you to consider playing in a World that has a low limitation
As can be expected the apology and the “please roll on a low pop server” has not gone down well with the fans and a few angry threads are already popping up on the official forums, one such a thread can be found here where the original poster give them some tips for their next MMO.

Do we have to explain this to you, SE? Apparently so, given your copy-pasted “apologies” and general lack of communication about this.
Here’s some suggestions from the ‘MMO Game Design 101′ class you should have taken
-people like to play with friends, when they can’t, they don’t want to play your game
-kicking AFK players is helpful for keeping server load down
-alts created on the same account don’t impact active server load
-functioning server queues are a good way to keep server load maintained
There ya go. Some free advice for your next attempt at an MMO in 2016 or whenever you forget again how terrible you are at this.
